Hi guys,
Been runnin Abyss for quite a few years now with no changes really(other than the server upgrade).
I've decided that it's time to upgrade my php version.
Windows XP Pro SP2
Pentium PIII 669Mhz 512MB Ram
I'm not running IIS(that I know of).
Last I recall, I unzipped the php package and manually copied/moved the files to where they needed to be etc.
Is there anything I should keep in mind, anything I should know, or anything I should be aware of? Will my forms still work? Will I have to reconfigure Abyss to know where php is (I'm expecting a no here, because the php filename/location will still be the same)?

You will have to configure abyss to look for php-cgi.exe not php.exe.
Some scripts do not work with PHP5 so if you experience problems you should downgrade again. PHP4 is perfectly fine. I still use it myself.

I'm not running any canned or 3rd party scripts, theyre all 'home grown'.
You think it's maybe not necessary to upgrade?

If its not broken, don't fix it :-)
