somthing wrong wid aliases, i edited it and cant remember wut the setting was before. now that one is not redirecting to the right directory and shows a download for a octet-stream

Ok, did you try to alias a file?

If not, try editing it again and see if you have / at the end of the directory.

If you do have a / at the end of the directory, Please take it off and see if that works.

If you don't have a / at the end of the directory, Please take add one and see if that works.

ive tried all variations,...

/forum & C:/..../folder
/forum/ & C:/..../folder
/forum & C:/..../folder/
/forum & C:/..../folder/index.php

but i want users just to type "http://myaddress/forum"

it worked before!....sigh*

Sorry I forgot to say in my post that You can't alias a file only directories. If I am wrong somone please correct me.

Um.. for the rest of the problem, I don't know what's wrong then. But I do know that I have had that probelm before but I can't remember what I did to fix it.

anyone else care to try? my FORUM is at stake! even thou its late at night. haha n that theres no users online other than me. but yeah.

NOTE: you can alias with files. my alias /webcam to /www/root/php/tulip.php works.

for some odd reason it began working agian...im not complaining[30min later]

but i would like an explanation, if any, just in case it hapens again.
so is this a BUG? not a PHP problem i think

You can alias files, thats how my sig works, changing it from .php to .jpg :-)
