hey, i have recently installed aws. i can access my pages by typing http://127.0.0.1 into my browser. i have already regestered a domain with Australia Domains, it is www.boosted.biz and points to http://b00sted.web1000.com.

How can i point my domain, boosted.biz, to look for pages from my server?

What information does Australian Domains need to know?

Some info that might help:
my ip address is: 203.51.222.117
if i type http://203.51.222.117:80 into the browser, i get an Alcatel adsl page, which is what i use for my internet connection. There are 3 computers running off the Alcatel hub.

any help greatly appreciated.

http://127.0.0.1/ is not global
http://localhost/ is not global
http://192.168.0.1 all the way up to http://255.255.255.255/ is not global

http://203.51.222.117:80 is not global... It falles between the above two and means you're on a network...

It has to be lower than 192.168.0.0 but not be 127.0.0.1... then that should be your global IP number...

Are you behind a proxy or are connected to a network at the moment? Your IP shouldn't work but if in the case I am wrong I apologize... Give me a live server address of yours and I will see if I can access it...

Sometimes my network addresses get picked up by scripts and display 192.etc... Anyway give me your address I'll check it out...

Go to that same address with your other computers... Are you getting back the same IP or different IP addresses? As far as I know your address is not global... You would need to kick in some sort of forwarding on your hub but I wouldn't know how to do it...

When I asked for your live server address I meant the global IP address you use to display your webpages... Include the port number if you have one...

when i type in: http://203.51.222.117/ i get a page where i can change settings like, dns, routing, ppp, cip, pptp, bridge, dhcp, then a save changes button. I think this might be where i forward it, but unsure.

the same page comes up when i type the address in on the other computers 2.

dhcp is most likely what you would want to look at... Remember port 80 is the default web port... You can change it also but if you do, make it something high that would not interfere with other ports... like 8000, 9000, etc...

Once you think you have it up you can send me a private message and I'll check it out for you making sure it is up otherwise... You can most likely catch me on MSN with my handle...

I do not get email at any of my instant messaging handles... They are solely used for Instant messaging...

Good luck and tell us if you solved it already :)

The page you get is your router's configuration page. So you should refer to its documentation to know how to make a server available for the outside world.
