I thought i would write this tutorial because i am bored, and i thought there might be somebody out there that could benifit from my useless knowledge!

1) Open up the abyss Config Page
2) Open up in a new window your Domain Management
3) If you know how to make subdomains go to step 11 otherwise continue reading!
4) Go on to Zone Management,
5) Add a new record,
6) You should now have something like:
Name
Data
Type
TTL
7) In the name put the YOU bit of YOU.domain.com
8) Then in the Data Field put you no-ip address if you have one, Otherwise put in your IP address if you have a static one.
9) In the Type filed Select CNAME, if this does not work select A
10) In the TTL Filed, Put 600 and click done/submit
11) Now click on and add button, on the Abyss Webserver Control Panel
12) In the port put 80
13) In the host name put the Domain you put in the Name box of your domain, but put it in the format of YOU.domain.com.
14) Then select where the documents are for that domain
15) Click OK
16) Clikc on configure, next to the domain you just created
17) Add your NO-IP address to the hosts box
18) Restart your webserver
19) DONE, Please note your subdomain might NOT become active stright away, as it might take sometime for your DNS to update!

Hmmm i recognise that sub domain bit from somewhere... MY SITE!!!

Anyway, if you use Lycos UK domains you dont need to make subdomains in the Zone Manager, just make one in abyss and away you go. Weird I know but it works for me.
