I read from the website that in order to download AHTML you need 2000, Professional or a Server... but I have none of that, what's a Home edition suppose to do?!?!?!?! Please help~~~

If you don't have an OS that supports AHTML, you don't have ASP support, simple as that. If the project is work related, demand to be given a PC that is actually useful for the project, if it's a home project, consider upgrading to a supported OS.

AHTML should work happily on Windows XP Home, I use the Pro version which is no different from Home in my opinion.

Are you using SP1 or SP2?

Because the main diffferance between Home and Pro was Security. Since SP2, they are virtually the same, with the exception of the included applications. (IE., IIS, The Remote Desktop Server,...). Oh, the initial configurations were different to. But if you've messed with as many settings as I have, you probably don't know where yiu stand on that topic.

This makes a difference because items that were not included with home are now on home from the pro version, thats why you will have noticed -home edition- has disappeared from the window xp loading screen.

No - but it functions almost exactly like it - without the orignial exclusive-to software.

then I should be able to use AHTML and Abyss web server to work locally on my computer to manage the asp files and preview them with the right connections to my database??

also, in order to preview correctly, does the .asp file need to be in a specific folder??? and after I installed activeHTML there's a Install.txt file that tells me to replace the path of the sample path.. what does that mean?? do I need to do anything?

What exactly did you think the htdocs folder was for? Please feel free to read the Abyss manual, and start providing some actual information in your posts if you want anyone to be able to help you.

Could you give us a screenshot of your ASP settings in the Abyss control panel?

Regards,
HIWD.
