I had abyss and dns2go working on a dialup.

I have spreedstream modem which works with abyss and dns2go

I bought linksys router befsr41 v3

i setup the port forward in it port 80 on all.

when i setup port forward in linksys and have abyss running and dns2go running it keeps comming up to the dns 192.168.254.254 which is used to login to modem speedstream 5200.

can anyone advise what to do?

Exactly what keeps on coming up to the DNS 192.168.254.254? The DNS2go client? or your computer?

HI

THANKS FOR ANY INPUT YOU MAY HAVE.

The modem screen does which is attached to my computer.

If i disconnect the router and use the modem only on dsl it all works fine.

But when i plug the router in and type in dns the modem screen comes up everytime.

Ok your getting confused. Those are IP address not DNS. I have never used DNS2Go, but they must have a bug where it wont detect the external IP address. Or at least by the way this is sounding. Look for an option in DNS2Go for something along the lines of use different IP, or use non lan IP.

I have the modem setup and everything works fine.

However when i plug in the linksys i start having the same problem. the modem page loads.

So the ip redirect works with the modem.

The linksys router is not setup with the modem.

It works fine for us. We can connect to the web site.

It seems also that you are using an old version of Abyss Web Server. We recommend upgrading to the latest: http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/download.php . The upgrade is free and takes only a few second to be set up.
