|
|
I have been trying to set up Abyss all evening and am almost there. I have ActiveHTML installed and easily setup Abyss. I tested the default http://localhost/ahtml/index.asp and it worked fine.
Now I fire up Visual Studio and try to start up a project and it gives me the error: Unable to create web project 'ahtml/project_name'. The UNC share
'\\HOME-PYTFH9TSXV\wwwroot$\ahtml\project_name' does not exist.
I went through the setup a few times for Abyss and made sure my setup was correct. Am I missing something? I am using XP Home Edition so IIS shouldn't be an issue.
Can anyone help? |

Silly question, but I take it the wwwroot$ share used in that UNC path exists and has appropriate permissions?
Can you access it via Explorer, outside of Visual Studio? ie by going start -> run -> "\\HOME-PYTFH9TSXV\wwwroot$\ahtml\" ? |

I think your documents should be sitting under ..\abyss\htdocs not under your AHTML directory...AHTML is just an ASP interpreter.
put all your web pages under Abyss' htdocs folder... _________________ ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

To mcwilliams132:
I can't even get to the point of creating docs to put into Abyss\htdocs.
Visual Studio will not let me create the ASP .NET Project because of this
"UNC Share" problem.
To Anonymoose:
To answer your question I tried to connect to "\\HOMEPYTFH9TSXV\wwwroot$\ahtml\" from Explorer and it would not
connect to anything. Am I supposed to create this path because it isn't there? I just assumed that when I create a VS Project I specify where my htdocs are "C:\Abyss\htdocs" and bamm it would work.
