phpbb problem

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

i got that error when installing.. any help? i got a green light on the mysql thingy but what else do i need

You have created the database name (using phpMyAdmin probably), haven't you? You must do this before running the phpBB install routine.
Other than that, make sure you are typing the correct info into the phpBB install form.
It's as simple as that.
Oh... and if you're using php5, well... it's a tricksy thing to use with phpBB. I would check at phpBB.com for any hints/tips.

Mysql 4.1 is not compliant with php4 if you are using these together you will need to configure mysql4.1 to use "Old Style Passwords" you will find the solution to this problem at the phpbb (help forum)

Oh by the way aprelium admins its messed up that accounts on "this PHPBB Board" have to e-mail activated its a lot of BS to go through just to try to reply to help someone
