I have abyss web server installed and running, Thank you. I was wondering how i would go about running a game server so that myself and a friend could play each other over the web.
Anyone have any ideas on the steps i should take.

depends on the game, some use a DOS box looking thing that is the server
abyss hosts websites, if you want to host a dedicated game server or not so dedicated you will need to bring up the games manual and figure out what ya have to do to make it work |

I thought the idea of a forum was a place to ask questions. Not all people are of the same standard of experience with particular tasks. We were all beginners at some point. I asked a question to which some people replied in a sensible and constructive manner, to whom i say thank you. I just felt a little offended by being called 'stupid', by asking what i thought what a reasonable question. I dont want to go on about this anymore, just wanted to put my views across.

comments like these have a negative impact on everything here, hopefully cmxflash you will act a bit more mature in the future
and webservers and game servers do have things that can be used together, for example scripts that let you see active game servers including how many players ping etc form the website http://hosted.tribalwar.com/legends/index.php?m=masterserver for example |
