what IP address are you giving people?
is it: 127.0.0.1 cos if it is this is a loopback address, which connects to your own computer where the ip address was entered. _________________ Olly |

this is a response based on a pm that was sent to me:
have you tried using a different port number, such as 81, as some isp's block access to port 80.
if your running a router you need to setup port forwarding.
if your using a firewall you need to allow abyss internet access. _________________ Olly |

How do you allow Abyss internet access? I'm having the same problem and changing ports didn't work. |

I'm using Windows XP. I'm on a school network. When I do the ipconfig through Windows command prompt, I get one IP, but when I use any other IP detection program/site, I get a different IP. I'm not sure why I get different IPs using different methods.
When I use the IP provided by Windows in the ipconfig, I can access the site myself, but no one else can see the site using the exact same address. When I use the IP determined by Abyss, neither I nor anyone else can access the site.
And for the record, no, I'm not trying to send people to my site using 127.0.0.1. |

That is the address that should be working, but it doesn't...not even on my own computer.

That is the address that Windows IPconfig gives to me. I can view the test page with that address on my own computer, but no one else can. |

That IP is where you LAN PC is located. Do you have a router or similar appliance? If there a router or that applianace in place, can you access it? Can you port forward or virtural server to IP 228 and PORT 81? If there an in/outbound TCP, can you set in/out TCP to PORT 81 on IP 10.130.0.228 or simply 228? _________________ CapFusion,... |
