Hi,

Please could you tell me if it is possible to display a custom page to a visitor whose IP address has been banned, instead of just the standard "Error 403- Forbidden" page?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Jacko

Hi,

If my question in my initial post does not make any sense, please say so. Even one person saying they don't have a clue what I'm talking about, would be helpful.

Is there anyone out there using the IP address control function? If so, what do banned users see when they visit your site?

The more I think about this, the more I think I will have to abandon Abyss anyway, as it does not allow banning of IP addresses by using wildcards, such as 180.76.* And I don't want to use firewall software to do this, as I want to keep the solution contained within the web server.

So I think I've talked myself into looking for another web server, unless anyone here has any suggestions, which would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Jacko

Sorry about the double post. Server was so slow to respond, I pressed Submit again, and I couldn't find an option to delete the post.

And please ignore my point about the wildcards, as Abyss does indeed allow them.

Use the Custom Error Pages feature for the host configuration you wish to modify. Users will see a 403 Forbidden message if you add a custom 403 error page. Unfortunately, some browsers do not allow these custom error pages to show such as Internet Explorer, and to make them show, would require the visitor to modify the Advanced settings of their browser.

Thanks for the reply. I'll look for an answer outside of the Custom Error Pages feature.
