Is Aprelium there? Previous post goes unanswered. Just would like to know if we can expect a preconfigured php 5.3.9 as it's security related.
Anyone else interested please say so. PHP 5.3.9 was released 1/10/12.

You dont need a preconfigured package for Abyss Webserver.

- Stop your webserver
- download PHP from http://windows.php.net/downloads/releases/php-5.3.9-Win32-VC9-x86.zip
- rename the old PHP 5.3.8 directory for a backup copy
- install the new PHP 5.3.9 (unzip and copy to the new directory)
- copy the php.ini from the old 5.3.8 directory to the new 5.3.9 directory
- restart Abyss webserver

...it works for me.

For developer ... since yesterday there is a new Xdebug-version 2.1.3

Regards

Ok now we have another security release PHP 5.3.10. Will there be a preconfigured release soon...................The preconfigured release is easier to update as no configuration of the server is needed. Please Aprelium let's get it out soon.

I've emailed Aprelium about the situation and I hope it will be available soon. Hang in there. ;-)

What he said here is pretty much right, except COPY the old directory for a backup. PHP will add/remove stuff from the PHP.INI, so you may not get the latest PHP configuration options by keeping an older INI version.

Also, when you install it, make sure when you get to the "Server setup" screen, you selected "Other CGI", or php-cgi.exe won't be available.

As you noticed it, PHP 5.3.9 has been phased out in favor of PHP 5.4.0.

It would be nice to keep some of the php 5.3 versions going till everyone has a chance to adapt to 5.4. I would say 50% of code out there will not run on 5.4 right away.

Any chance of 5.3.11 being released by aprelium?

I have used both from here and php.net It is nice to get it from here as it is generally setup for you.

Thanks Aprelium
