Now that ActiveHTML is no longer freeware, is there a free alternative available so that I can run my ASP scripts under Abyss?

I think if you search the forums...some users have posted their free copy of AHTML on their site for download...

I was already aware of this, however, after uninstalling my copy of ActiveHTML and installing the "free" version which was posted by various members here, when I try to access an asp page, I recieve the same message as before, "The evaluation period of seliSoft ActiveHTML is over.
Please visit http://www.selisoft.com/order to purchase.
Thank you for using seliSoft ActiveHTML!"

Any thoughts/advice as to why this may be happening?

I'm guessing that AHTML didn't clean up after itself after uninstalling.

I've never done what you're trying...

but you may want to try uninstalling again
navigate to the AHTML install location and remove that
clean your registry (use regclean or some other cleaner to wipe out orphaned entries)
wipe out your temp files
reboot
try again...

Anyone else have any ideas?

ActiveHTML seems to use a file called c:\FC9EC24C.36E to store the installation date, and possibly the license key - I found I had to delete this file as well as the AHTML folder and registry stuff before I could reinstall it.

(Deleted it by accident first, and couldn't work out why AHTML stopped working...)

Thanks! Mine had a temp file called C:\4E75507E.F70 - upon deleting this, ActiveHTML just displays blank pages. I'm going to uninstall/reinstall using the provided link now that this file has been removed, and HOPEFULLY it won't ask me to pay anymore :P

I done everything stated above except I couldn't find any file that looked like that on c:\ I have searched the entire system to find it but have had no success. Does anyone know as to where this file is placed??? I have also done a search for any files that where created on the day of the first installation. No luck either. It's not in on the main C:\ drive folder so maybe it's in the documents and settings one? I've done everything. Has anyone any ideas. I only want to get this flippin thing working. By the way im working with XP home edition. Thanks for any help that anyone gives.

People that can't find it.. It's a hidden operating system file, which means you have to go into the folder options, and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files"
Then go back and check for the file. It's an easy file to find... Mine was C:\5CFD5FC7.F99 - I also have XP Home

Found it at long last. I didn't realise that option was there. I thought it was just the hidden folders and files option. Anyway found it straightaway deleted it and reinstalled the program. I already had the registry cleaned. typed localhost in the browser and there was my web pages. All working. Thanks foo182.

Took a registry clean '''search for selisoft & ahtml ... after uninstalling ahtml.exe of course.

Next step was a warm reboot..then a re-install of free version.
