Do I have to have MySQL to make a good interactive web site with php? An example of a good login page that I would like to create is
www.shimlar.com
When someone logs in, it has there account saved and everything. Do I have to have a MySQL database to do this? |

Mysql is not neccesary depending on which script you are going to use for the login.
but mysql is faster and once installed is cake to work with thanks to phpmyadmin.
so its not needed but recomended if your going to install some bigger scripts. |

| it is possible by using text files isntead of a mysql DB but mysql is well worth learning for the futer. |
