Hi,

I've been playing with Abyss for an hour, and I'm very impressed :-)

I know it's more of a PHP question, but since Abyss' strong point is that it's very small, I figure maybe someone here already did what I want to do.

I'd like to burn a CD that would have a ready-to-run package consisting in Abyss + PHP + stuff in htdocs/ and cgi-bin/, so my friend will just have to run some copy.bat to copy the whole tree to a directory on his hard-disk, and take a look at a web site I built for him.

Question is... which files in C:\PHP do I need for a bare install?

Thank you :-)
JD.

For a base install why not just stick the PHP installer on there? Its small enough. It depends on what PHP is doing as to what files it needs, most basic one is php.exe -

Thx for the idea, but the installer is over a megabyte. Small enough, but I'd like to see if I can remove some of the stuff.

You need only 3 files:
* php.exe
* php4ts.dll
* php.ini

mind you, check you have removed all extension references in php.ini before hand, otherwise php will not run properly

Thx everyone. phpinfo() at least works with just those three files :-) Hopefully, I'll get an error message that makes sense when I try to run full-fledged PHP applications on this bare-bone PHP install.

Next steps on my list:
- Doing the same for Perl (20MB!)
- Finding a small CMS that doesn't require a database... Eagerly waiting for Pivot to go final
- If the CMS doesn't provide a good interface, provide a small, dedicated WYSIWYG client like wBloggar, etc.

Thx :-)
JD.
