Is there any way to remotely access a Windows abyss fileServer in a manner comprable to the way you can access apache servers on linux using SSH clients like MindTerm? I looked through most of these help threads, but couldnt find anything helpful... if my question's already been answered, kindly show me there.
thanks. |

When you connect to a server via SSH, you're not connecting to Apache, you're connecting to a shell for your user account on that server and modifying your files via that... Just because you're modifying Apache files doesn't mean Apache is providing the remote access :)
Nit picking aside, yes, this is possible on Windows - you can just install an SSH server, setup an account and then connect with Mindterm exactly as you were on Linux. Alternatively, you can use SSH.com's free SCP GUI and have a bit more of a helpful interface.
The Windows port of OpenSSH server can be found here :

The ReadMe file explains in detail how to set it up, but give me a shout if you need any help with it.
SSH.com client, free for personal and non commercial use, can be found here.

Congratulations on choosing the most secure way to remotely modify / upload files :D |
