I ran a couple of searches and haven't seen any questions or post concerning the use of yaBBSe with the Abyss server. Has anyone succesfully used yaBBSe under Abyss? I've thrown together a "guinea pig" computer just for testing purposes, but I haven't had any success running the forum on it. I'm going to wipe the drive clean and start all over again with a clean install of 98SE, but I'd like to know first if yaBBse will run at all. Judging by all the other post of users running PhP and mySQL just fine with Abyss, I sould be able to run yaBBSe too. But I'm a total newb to all this, so I really dont have a clue. |

YaBB Se is written in PHP so everything should run fine with Abyss Web Server. The process will be the following:
* Install Abyss Web Server
* Install PHP (follow our guideline at http://www.aprelium.com/abyssws/php.html)
* Install MySQL
* Install YaBB Se
The two final steps are the hardest ones for a beginner. MySQL documentation can help you enough to do it (please consider also reading http://www.aprelium.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=138 , it may contain useful tips).
We will try installing YaBB Se and we will tell you tomorrow how it was. _________________ Support Team

Update: It looks like I made a bad install of yaBBSe and that was the cause of my problems. I'm currently defragging my drive and gonna try again. Hopefully this time it will go without a hitch. But it looks like yaBBSe sould run fine with Abyss, PhP, and mySQL on Win98SE. Maybe I'll write up a quick install for other fellow newbs who just want to throw a forum up to play around with. :wink: |

As promised, we installed YaBB Se and everything went fine. Just follow their readme.html instructions and the on-screen directives as you evolve in the final setup process. _________________ Support Team
