My ISP blocks all "server-type" ports, so I need to run on different ports. I am using WinRoutePro as a software router, and I can access (say) Abyss if I set it to listen on (say) 777 and then use WinRoutePro to forward all requests for 212.678.12.56:777 to 192.168.1.1:777 - This works fine.

However, in some cases I would like to also TRANSLATE ports - for example, one of my servers is PWS (for ASP, coz I can't use ActiveHTML on Win9x). Unfortunately, PWS is set for port 80 and it cannot be changed easily. And the ISP blocks port 80 - so, I would like to forward and translate like this :
212.678.12.56:778 --> 192.168.1.1:80

Grrr - I cannot get this to work in WinRoute ! I have emailed Kerio, but they haven't replied. I haven't got any PacketFiltering, no other Firewalls. Tried with Winroute Proxy enabled and disabled. I've wasted hours reading WInRoute docs, and scouring the net - but can't find any reference to this kind of problem. I *must* be missing something, since it's a pretty trivial task (and can be easily done in almost any Proxy or Router)

Has anyone out there worked out how to do Port Translation in WinRoute ?

Thanks heaps, JohnC

Don't have Winroute but if you need to get round this quickly, it might be easier to use a port forwarder. This will listen on whatever port you want on your machine and forward all traffic to a different port on the machine, so for example you could set your Winroute to forward to the 777 port and have the port forwarder listening on port 777 to forward to 80 on that machine. Should do as a workaround till you get a reply from them or someone here :)

Example ones here but there's plenty of other free ones to choose from...

Hope this helps...
