I prefer using my router for port forwarding. I turn the firewall off on XP and use the routers firewall. XP forwarding doesnt seem to work for me all the time.

First before I help me let me critize you. Why in HE** are you using XP as server? All NT based operating systems are completely unstable let alone unsecure for serving as any type of server unless its for intranet use. You sould try to use Linux distro such as Slackware or RedHat for this. They would use less processing power/ram to serve your pages we'll allowing more people to access the site(s) on the server at the same time.

Now to help you!
Start-->
Settings(or control panel can't remeber)-->
Network Settings(or if your lucky and someone put a short cut of some kind FireWall Settings)-->

From there its pretty self-explanitory. My direction might be off though since I haven't touched anything with XP since it first came out in Beta.

::Edit
Just remebered, if you still want to use the built in fireWall disable ports 80, 8080,
and 9999 for console remote access. Or Else just disable everything if your going to use a D-Link router/FireWall(TRy the 604).

HAHAHA LOL LOL EVASTAR gave me a good laugh. Not that Evastar gave you bad advice but you cant expect a Linux user to give Microsoft any credit. XP is a stable platform if you know how to use it. Evastar hit it on the head when he said he hasnt used XP since the beta first came out. Linux users dont even know how to say M-I-C-R-O-S-O-F-T. Dont get me wrong when I use OPENOFFICE.ORG instead of Microsoft Office since it is $0 compared to Microsofts $500 price tag. So i am not always an alllie of them.

Yes there is a settings selection at the bottom of the screen where you turn on/off the firewall. You can open close any ports you want.

Have you tried turning off the XP firewall to see if you can even connect without the firewall?

By the way why are you using port 86 and not 80??????

Your site is working now.
To wanye475 I am not just a linux user. I only use it for my server since there are still so many bugs in NT based systems. I do use windows 98 and I like it.
I prefer using windows 98 over XP since XP has too many overhead processes when you are running the smallest program. If you were to take a game such as Generals that requirs around 256megs of ram minimal you would be able to run with 128megs minimal in win98.
As for Quake on linux produses better frame rated than XP or 98.
Can't wait to try Longhorn.[/b]

None taken. Just trying to say I prefer secuirity over ease of use when it comes to my server. I leave the gaming to win98 though. They are both proven operating systems in purpose and use.
