If you use a router with port forwarding enabled, then simply disable the port that the webserver runs on.

As far as I know to, you shouldn't have to CHMOD if your using the windows version. Not quite sure about the linux version though as I don't use it. |

running it as a service means that it a) loads once OS is booted computer (no need for manual start) and b) runs regardless of whether or not you are logged in.

If your running windows, then you shouldn't have to if I remember rightly. Just place the needed files (and correct directory structure) into the htdocs in abyss installation directory. |
