The problem is more likely to do with your available upload speed. It is probably around 256kbps, which is probably why the initial connection takes a long to initialise.

Listening error means that abyss cannot listen to port 80. This may be because something else is using that port
Are you using Skype? Because skype uses port 80 for some reason.
