If you want an address to poit to your server search for dyndns

What is your global (wan) address, have you set the napt to forward tcp to the server lan ip

192.168.x.x

is classically used as the lan side addresses, in fact if you share a connection widows forces this address for any computers sharing

Get a third party one, I found warFTP daemon quite easy to set up

On your LAN side your two machines will have different address so they can recognise each other, find what they are and forward the port to the servers LAN IP. :idea:

You need to forward to your computers LAN ip not the WAN

BTW it was the IP mapping in the router, had to set ports in this case 80 and 1300 to point to the computer lan address in this case 192.168.0.51

Certain ISPs use cacheing on the servers also, so hold the control key when u refresh if just refresh dont work
