What do you get when you execute the following command from a Windows commande line (Start > Run > then type cmd and hit return).

ping 192.168.1.1
Pinging 192.168.1.1 with 3 ...

I have a WRT54GS linksys router and cannot reach the control panel. I try going to http://192.168.1.1/ - doesn't work. Same with localhost. Why can't I get to it?

BTW... Instead of using the instal ...

You will have to configure port-forwarding to access your server.
Go to http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
and find your router make and model.
