I think somebody released a lib that allows you to zip files with PHP, it means recompiling it though - id find another way round if i were you :)

For a base install why not just stick the PHP installer on there? Its small enough. It depends on what PHP is doing as to what files it needs, most basic one is php.exe -

Operating under windows XP changes nothing, im using it and the only thing ive had to do is change the php.ini file around a bit...

i recommend MySQL Control Center http://www.mysql.com/products/mysqlcc/ - it lets you change everything very easily...

Check that the username and password being used to connect are correct...

do you mean a person login to your configuration console, or just login to a page/folder on your server?

To login to the console:

Give them the path to the console login, eg: http://12.12 ...

everywhere you are getting the number 404 come up it means that the person requesting items from your server was denied them...
Error 400 means Bad Request so the "hacker" still didnt get what they w ...

if you mean you need a form processor then i recommend using:

or you just click Auto Start on the server's server menu and it will start up at system start. A lot less hassle :)

you need a program called active ports (http://www.ntutility.com/freeware.html) it scans all the ports on your machine and tells you what program is running on it...

there is also one written by Aprelium (remember they made the server) and is detailed enough to guide an idiot through.. No offence :)

why not install mySQL and mySQL CC? they dont take up that much space then you can convert to phpBB, Invision Board or YaBB SE...

i installed perl under c:\program files\abyss web server\perl (have since uninstalled) and my path was:

!#usr/local/bin/perl/

try it, if not muck about with that - it should be some variation :)

even though you have removed the error showing the error is still there and a problem still resides..

i would recommend turning error showing back on and trying to rectify the problem like that...

if you can get ahold of me over MSN i will try and help since i recommended the thing...

it would be useful if you post the error on the forum page as your server is more down than up and that mak ...

well i must say that after your first post it seems like you dont like the server as much as your "retraction" says you do. If you do try another server try waiting months for a reply instead of hours ...

AHTML will also require a license after the first 40 days, check Apreliums post to find the Selisoft website. Email them and ask for a free license, they should send you the details within a week...

do you get the page where it asks you to download the file instead of executing it? if you do it is an install problem..

i also must agree with vbgunz, it sounds like you didnt install PHP properly. Which version are you using by the way? I recommend the self installing file...
