I went ahead and un-installed MySQL 4.1
and all of it's associated file ...

To check if MySQL is running on v4.1, go into control panel, admin tools, services, and look for MySQL, look next to it and it will say if it is started or not.

Try another PHP version if you are h ...

Use php5 and MySQL4.1 if you must use php5. This seems to be a good combination.
