|
|
Decided to use phymyadmin instead of toad, so installed it.
Instructions were fine and everything works--except I get the mcrypt extension not loaded error. Not a big deal except that research says that leaves me unprotected and causes phpmyadmin to load slower.
Found some information that I needed to uncomment the php_mcrypt.dll in the php.ini file. I did, but then I got an error that php_mcrypt.dll could not be found and this was fatal to phpmyadmin.
Rebooted. Still the same. Reinstalled PHP for abyss (5.2.2.2). No joy. Uncommenting the php.ini still causes the php_mcrypt.dll not found fatal error. HTTP 500.
Any ideas? Thanks. _________________ Chris F |

Does your PHP install have the dll file? Also I suggest you use Aprelium's PHP package if you aren't already. _________________ -Blake | New Server :D

If you're on Windows, you may need to copy libmcrypt.dll to c:\windows\system32 for (extension=php_mcrypt.dll) to work. |

I'm using Aprellium's php package.
php_mcrypt.dll is in the path per the php.ini
I don't know about libmcrypt.dll but will look into it.
I haven't read anything about it in my research, though

Hi Chris,
libmcrypt.dll just needs to be in a system path. Sounds like you've already commented out the correct line for PHP.ini, but libmcrypt.dll needs to be in a system path to work correctly. Or you can change your win path statement to include the directory where libmcrypt.dll is located currently, but it's easier to just copy the file into your c:\windows\system32 directory.
Restart and all should work properly ;) |

Nice to have good advice.
I downloaded a zipped php and extracted the libmcrypt.dll to system32 and restarted. The mcrypt not loaded error went away.
Thanks for the help.
The key was to find the libmcrypt.dll file and it took a bit searching in the wrong places before I realized the best place was the current php zip file.
Thanks, again. _________________ Chris F |
